My passion for baking and decorating cakes is something I have to thank my Mother Gail for.  As the eldest of 5 children there were always plenty of opportunities to sit in the kitchen watching and helping her to bake delicious and beautiful cakes for birthdays and other family occasions.

In 2009 I decided to turn my hobby in to my profession and enrolled at Brooklands College in Weybridge where, over a three year period, I achieved distinctions in all of the courses attended.

Since starting my cake business 8 years ago, I am very proud to have  been personally recommended to make cakes for BBC Radio 2; I made Lynne Bowles Land Rover cake which featured in the national news & also a giant Walkman cake for the Sarah Cox to mark her last episode of presenting ‘Sounds of the 80’s.                                                            Another personal highlight was making Trevor Sorbie’s 70th birthday cake.

Whilst at Brooklands College I had the opportunity to exhibit my cakes in national student competitions and achieved:

• A gold medal in the ‘Renshaw Cup’ at the Alliance for Bakery Students & Trainers  Annual Conference in June 2011.

In December 2011 I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Eric Lanlard whilst taking part in an episode of his series ‘Baking Mad with Eric Lanlard’ for Channel 4.

Bluebell Cake Design’s premises are registered with Mole Valley Council, Surrey & when last inspected, in June 2019, received a 5 star rating.
